BS EN 1090-1 Accreditation

LONG ENGINEERING GAINS “CE” MARKING APPROVAL, AHEAD OF TIME!

After many months of hard work the company has gained BS EN 1090-1 accreditation, at the first attempt. By gaining this standard Long Engineering confirms that welded structures produced by the company satisfy the Execution class requirements regarding CE Marking.

From 1st July 2014 it will be a legal requirement for all fabricated structural steel work delivered to site to be CE Marked. In order to comply with the regulations, only steel work contractors with an Execution Class equal to that required for a project may be considered.

It is not just large scale structural steel frames that fall within the scope of BS EN 1090-1 but also welded items including staircases, balustrades, balconies, canopies, plant rooms and roof structures including any associated welded components.

Lance Harris M.D. commented ” some of our clients are unaware of these legal requirements and they will be breaking the law if they source from fabricators post 1/7/14 who have failed to gain the appropriate standard “.BBA CE
